When the congratulatory call from Union College athletic director Jim McLaughlin came in before noon on Friday, new Dutchmen football coach Jeff Behrman had to mobilize quickly to get himself and his family from Long Island to the Union campus for his introductory news conference.
Getting there in time turned out not to be a problem for the elated Behrman, who coveted the Union job during the interview process.
“I made it clear in my interview process, it wasn’t any coaching job I wanted, it was about the right coaching job,” Behrman said. “That’s why, in doing my research on Union College, this was the best job for me. It had to be the right fit, and I felt that during my interview process.”
The 42-year-old Ohio native comes to Union following a 10-year stint as an assistant coach at Stony Brook University, where he served as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for former Union assistant Chuck Priore. [Read the full Article]
