Every summer there are a number of pre-season youth football jamborees and scrimmages on Long Island, however only one can tout a reputation for having fiery competition. In its 9th year, the Uniondale Knights Youth Football Jamboree attracts the best competition in the Northeast. These are not recreational teams, they are competitive organizations ages 7 and up with ambitious players, and driven parents. They come from all over in anticipation of getting some live reps before the season starts, and working out the kinks in their offensive and defensive schemes. There are teams from Maryland, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and other bordering states. Every year teams also come from as far as Texas and Atlanta due to the relationships across the country that it’s founder Tim Forehand has. The atmosphere is a football junkie’s dream; great youth football, seasoned coaches from High School through the NFL who’ve come back to be part of the day, respectful affairs even in the most intense scrimmages, recruiters present from prep-schools and colleges, great food and refreshments, and a DJ who provides music and entertainment all day long.  It’s a day of football reminiscent of similar events held in the South and West, and it’s all due to the generous volunteer efforts of Tim and his team. The best part about it? It’s absolutely free, but donations are always appreciated and help subsidize the costs of permits, security, and help ensure it remains a quality event. We love the Jamboree and highly recommend it.  Contact Tim to register.
