Long Island Football Influencer

[These are the movers and shakers of Long Island Youth Football that we wish to honor. They are Coaches, Recruiters, Parents, NFL/NCAA players, and dedicated people doing things in and outside their communities to elevate the level of football on Long Island. These people do not all have 20 years of experience, fancy alma maters, or superstar backgrounds. Many of them do; but what they all have in common is more important than that: they all put in many hours dedicated to the cause. This is time spent away from their families, sacrificing, working hard to to gain more exposure for players on Long Island, and creating new opportunities for them. Their passion and dedication is fueling the new movement that is getting people on Long Island excited about football. #JoinTheLiyfaMovement]
There are only a handful of people in Long Island football with connections spanning the youth, college, and professional levels. Greg Lauri is one of those guys, and like the other people associated with LIYFA the man brings no ego or agendas to the table. He is revered by his players, and it’s easy to see why. As the Assistant Head Coach/ QB Coach at ASA Junior College in Brooklyn his presence is dominant in football circles. He’s a modern coach who is connected digitally and dialed in to what recruiters are looking for. His players and the program benefit from his coaching expertise, and his relentless promotion and hard work. He is the former QB Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Nassau County Community College. Take notice of how popular the Nassau Lions program became under his tutelage, the caliber of players that are recruited by them, as well as where those players have moved on to. Coach Lauri has been an integral part of all of it. You would be hard pressed to find someone who doesn’t know him in Long Island football circles. He has strong ideals that have contributed to much success, yet he is open minded and always willing to make time to talk football. There are a limited number of hours in a day, yet at any given time you can find Coach Lauri on the field, in meetings with college and professional recruiters, on Twitter promoting players, at coaches association meetings, in the film room, recruiting, and making appearances at various youth events. His reputation precedes him.
