Long Island Football Influencer

[These are the movers and shakers of Long Island Youth Football that we wish to honor. They are Coaches, Recruiters, Parents, NFL/NCAA players, and dedicated people doing things in and outside their communities to elevate the level of football on Long Island. These people do not all have 20 years of experience, fancy alma maters, or superstar backgrounds. Many of them do; but what they all have in common is more important than that: they all put in many hours dedicated to the cause. This is time spent away from their families, sacrificing, working hard to to gain more exposure for players on Long Island, and creating new opportunities for them. Their passion and dedication is fueling the new movement that is getting people on Long Island excited about football. #JoinTheLiyfaMovement]

Passionate, Successful, Humble, Dedicated, and always willing to help. Those are a few of the qualities that describe Coach Mike Spina. His coaching accolades at the high school level are commendable, but that doesn’t stop him from making time to train and shape the youth players across the region, passing on his experience to the players of tomorrow. Mike is involved in many football related activities in Long Island and is very congenial, and approachable. He was a all state quarterback at Nanuet High School. He was recruited and went to Southern Connecticut then finished his college career at C.W. Post. Coach Mike started coaching at Locust Valley 1985, where he won 4 championship in a row. Currently Coach Mike is the Head coach at Floral Park since 1995. Under his direction he lead Floral Park to 2 finals  and 7 semifinals. He won 2 sportsmanship awards and New York Jets Tri State Coach of Week last year. Other great accomplishments were coaching  alll star game last summer, USA Football Player Academy, USA Football Coaches Clinics, Heads Up Camp, teaching clinics and was originator and director of big daddy football camp. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated resource in Long Island.
